I tool my traveling shop to the Indiana Festival in Fishers , Indiana this weekend. I had great fun talking to folks, playing and singing, plugging my programs and building ukes!

This fellow is an islander that heard that I'd be at the show. He wanted to talk about some old Hawaiian uke players. We had a great "talk story".

I didn't sell anything...I wasn't supposed to. I was hired by Indiana's folk arts agency to demonstrate ukulele building and to talk about ukulele culture.

At one point the folklorist running the tent had my Mom and oldest daughter on stage playing with me and talking about our 4 generations of uke playing.

I did find many, many folks interested in lesson in both performance and in construction. I did a lot of good networking that could lead to commissions.

Public reactions ranged from wonderful to hysterical. Many folks brought children over to see the "little guitars". Many assumed that they would be inexpensive...and they are relative to guitars. The most memorable question was from a 20-something.."How much do make off 'a one of those??

The next show is Fair on the Square, in Bloomington, Indiana on June 17th on the square.
